Decades LAB was created during the covid pandemic in an effort to escape the boredom and fear of being in quarantine.

"It was 1996, and we had cut class to go swim at Sarah P.'s house. Afterward, we ran upstairs in our bathing suits to rinse off, and that's the first time I washed my hair with Herbal Essences shampoo, giggling with friends. We were hysterically reenacting those orgasmic commercials that were oh so provocative. We then hopped out of the shower, changed our clothes, grabbed some snacks, and headed to her room to watch the Craft. It was a long-forgotten innocent memory that had been buried deep until that day at my sister's house."

This memory came flooding back in May of 2020 at her sister's house when she hopped into the guest shower and was surprised to see a bottle of Herbal Essences shampoo. She laughed a little and started her sudsy journey down memory lane. Thus, Decades Lab was born.

She wanted to share the connection between scent and memory. We've all experienced that place and time when a familiar scent stopped you in your tracks and brought you back to a singular moment so precious and so vivid you could say it was almost like time travel. Whether walking into a stranger's home, a unique shop, a hike in the woods, your friend's grandma's home, the list goes on. So that's what we want to explore with you. By using scents reminiscent of popular products and materials, we want to take you back in time.

It begins in the 1990s, but we'll see you throughout the decades. We look forward to your shared scent memories.
